Vetta hosted, for three months, SMS group's employee from Germany, Can Yalcin, Technical Sales Manager Integrated Products Sales Automation, Digital, and Service Solutions, for a professional exchange. Check out below, in this exclusive interview, the account he shares about his initial expectations, challenges and learnings, and the experience he had with us here in Brazil during these three months.

How was your experience working at Vetta, in Brazil, during these 3 months?

I would like to distinguish between business-related and social-related expectations, but I would answer both in a positive manner.

Regarding business expectations, I can clearly say that the involvement and support provided, especially by my direct contacts, were immense and very supportive. We have gained a common understanding of how business is done, grown together, and see great chances in further deepening the collaboration. Both for regional sales purposes and also related to business integration purposes worldwide for Vetta, we expect fruitful events regarding new projects very soon and work hard to meet all customer requirements, considering all regional sensitivities within a worldwide collaborating organization. The gained experiences via the face-to-face exchange support collaboration, create a common base of understanding, and accordingly give us a much more powerful appearance towards our customers and partners.

Regarding social expectations, even though a certain language barrier existed, I felt every single day the hospitality, whether private or business-related. I really appreciated the general happy mode of Brazilians, and of course, the great weather compared to the European winter was very, very motivating.

I believe that these kinds of exchanges make us as a group grow quicker together and align business processes, as well as enable us to understand gaps in communication and organization. All involved learn and benefit from the collaboration and experience change to make the wheels roll more efficiently and aligned. My special thanks go especially to Ricardo Giacomin (CEO of Vetta) for the enablement within the organization and the involvement in common decisions and next steps towards our common moving-forward strategies. But of course, not forgetting all other colleagues from sales, business development, product, and marketing who supported and were involved in my integration from the first day on.

Comment a little about the expectations you had before coming. Were they met or exceeded? (Was there anything that surprised you beyond what you expected?)

Before coming to Brazil, I had certain doubts related to the duration, which was new for me, but as I have been fully integrated with a high degree of hospitality from the first day on into the daily business, in the end, the time passed by way more quickly than I expected. For me, this trip will always be remembered positively and supported, next to the business alignment, also my personal growth.

What will you miss most about Vetta / Brazil, after your return home?

Waking up to a sunny morning motivated me every day and created appreciation towards my company for enabling this longer stay. Furthermore, our frequent weekend events with excellent BBQs and other social events (e.g., visiting local football games within a great atmosphere) always made me feel like I was part of the team. I appreciate the cohesion of the Vetta organization and see it as a role model for all other entities in an integration process within the SMS group.

Besides the intensive long-distance travels to customers with Ricardo and colleagues, what I will and already do miss a lot is "suco de melancia” (watermelon juice). I appreciated this "taste of heaven" almost every day during my attendance. Also worth mentioning is the landscape, the food, and the variety of animals, which in total impressed me a lot.

Is there anything else you would like to add to your report?

I want to thank everybody involved in making my posting happen, starting from Thiago Maia, Caroline Chatard, Bastian König, of course, once again Ricardo Giacomin, and all other colleagues I met and spent time with during my stay. I am looking forward to further great moments together.

As evidenced in this interview, Can's professional exchange at Vetta, and in Brazil, left positive marks and unforgettable memories. The European employee's accounts further reinforce our conviction that, even as a global company, we can excellently promote integration and cultural diversity among our employees. We thank Can for sharing his impressions and learnings with us and, especially, for the incredible work we did during this time we had together.
